- This article analyzes the importance of a political agenda committed to the construction of Anti-Racist Education in Brazil. In order to identify permanencies and breaks with the traditional school curriculum for elementary school, a bibliographic review was carried out on the studies produced in the country on racial issues in education in the last ten years. The bibliographic review dialogued with the main educational policies implemented in the country, especially with the text of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) enacted in 2017. From the analysis, we concluded that the current educational legislation remains committed to the notions of racial unity and racial democracy that historically feeds the social imagination of Brazilians. These notions are manifested in the school curriculum - in the real curriculum, through the contents taught, and in the hidden curriculum, through the exclusion practices that take place in the school environment.
