  • Cerastium alpinum Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 438. 1753. "Habitat in Alpibus Europae." RCN: 3402. Lectotype (Jonsell & Jarvis in Nordic J. Bot. 14: 156. 1994): Herb. Linn. No. 192 (LAPP). Current name: Cerastium alpinum L. (Caryophyllaceae). Note: Hultén (in Svensk Bot. Tidskr. 50: 436, f. 3. 1956) applied the name to the common plant of the Scandinavian mountains, and illustrated the material on sheet 603.12 (LINN), though without referring to it as the type. Möschl (in Mitt. Naturwiss. Vereines Steiermark 103: 146. 1973) evidently regarded material in LINN as the type but did not distinguish between sheets 603.12-603.15. As these are evidently not part of a single gathering, Art. 9.15 does not apply.
