Burser XXV: 72 (UPS); [icon] in Mattioli, Pl. Epit.: 260. 1586. Current name: Asparagus acutifolius L. (Liliaceae/Asparagaceae). Note: Although El-Gadi (in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 57: 75. 1978) indicated 434.9 (LINN) as type, it is an Alströmer collection that was not received by Linnaeus until after 1753. It is not original material for the name.
