  • Solidago mexicana Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 879. 1753. "Habitat in Mexico?" RCN: 6353. Lectotype (Taylor & Taylor in Sida 10: 243. 1984): Herb. Linn. No. 998.13 (LINN). Current name: Solidago sempervirens L. var. mexicana (L.) Fernald (Asteraceae). Note: Gray (in Proc. Amer. Acad. Arts 17: 178. 1882) noted the identity of the cited Tournefort element, but did not designate a type. McVaugh (in Contr. Univ. Michigan Herb. 9: 366. 1972) discussed 998.13 (LINN) and noted that it resembled S. sempervirens but did not indicate it as type. Although Taylor & Taylor did not provide a sheet number for their type choice, there is only one sheet associated with this name in LINN.
