- Smilax zeylanica Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1029. 1753. "Habitat in Zeylona." RCN: 7439. Lectotype (Dassanayake in Dassanayake & Clayton, Revised Handb. Fl. Ceylon 14: 274. 2000): Herb. Hermann 2: 82; 4: 30, No. 364 (BM). Current name: Smilax zeylanica L. (Smilacaceae). Note: Although Dassanayake did not distinguish between the specimens in two separate volumes of Herb. Hermann, it is likely they are part of a single gathering, and his typification is accepted (Art. 9.15).
