- Satureja hortensis Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 568. 1753. "Habitat in G. Narbonensi & Italia." RCN: 4159. Lectotype (López González in Anales Jard. Bot. Madrid 38: 385. 1982): Herb. Linn. No. 723.9 (LINN). Generitype of Satureja Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 164. 1929). Current name: Satureja hortensis L. (Lamiaceae). Note: Hedge & Lamond (in Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 28: 134. 1968) indicated unspecified material in LINN as type, but this failed to distinguish between sheets 723.9 and 723.10. As these are not part of a single gathering, Art. 9.15 does not apply.
