A, 9(3): 81. 2004): [icon] " Saururus arborescens, fructu adunco " in Plumier, Descr. Pl. Amér.: 58, t. 77. 1693. Current name: Piper aduncum L. (Piperaceae). Note: Tebbs (in Bull. Nat. Hist. Mus. London, Bot. 23: 19. 1993) indicated Houstoun material (presumably in Herb. Sloane, BM) as “?lectotype” but this was not seen by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name.
