Daftar Isi:
- Petiveria alliacea Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 342. 1753. "Habitat in Jamaicae nemorosis." RCN: 2626. Lectotype (Barrie in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 74. 1993): Herb. Clifford: 141, Petiveria 1 (BM-000558594). Generitype of Petiveria Linnaeus. Current name: Petiveria alliacea L. (Phytolaccaceae). Note: Fawcett & Rendle (Fl. Jamaica 3: 158. 1914) stated "type in Herb. Linn.", evidently intending sheet 472.1 (LINN), and this choice has been followed by authors such as Nowicke (in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 55: 344. 1969) and Ghosh & Sikdar (in J. Econ. Taxon. Bot. 4: 155. 1983). However, the sheet lacks a Species Plantarum number (i.e. “1”), written by Linnaeus, and is a post-1753 addition to the collection and so not original material for the name. Barrie’s 1993 choice is therefore accepted here.
