(1763), nom. illeg. Type not designated. Original material: [icon] in Plumier, Descr. Pl. Amér.: 62, t. 79. 1693; [icon] in Linnaeus, Amoen. Acad. 1: 232, t. 10, f. 21. 1749. Current name: Passiflora serratodigitata L. (Passifloraceae). Note: Feuillet & Cremers (Proc. Kon. Ned. Akad. Wetensch. C, 87: 385. 1984) indicated Linnaeus’ diagnosis as the type but this is contrary to Art. 8.1. Cervi (in Fontqueria 45: 20. 1997) stated "TYPUS: “Martinica” (P)", but this statement appears to have been derived purely from bibliographic sources and does not indicate any particular collection.
