Daftar Isi:
- Ethulia sparganophora Linnaeus, Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 2: 1171. 1763. "Habitat in India." RCN: 6046. Lectotype (Hind in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 360. 1998): [icon] "Sparganophoros Virgae aureae folio, floribus e foliorum alis, absque pediculis" in Vaillant in Mém. Acad. Roy. Sci. Paris 1719: 309, t. 20, f. 35. 1719. - Epitype (Hind in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 360. 1998): Guadeloupe. Basse-Terre, near Grand Etang, 400-425m, 27 Nov 1959, Proctor 20182 (BM-000576316). Current name: Struchium sparganophorum (L.) Kuntze (Asteraceae). Note: Grierson (in Dassanayake & Fosberg, Revised Handb. Fl. Ceylon 1: 120. 1980) indicated as the type material in Vaillant’s herbarium (P) which was not seen by Linnaeus, and Jeffrey (in Kew Bull. 43: 272. 1988) treated Vaillant’s polynomial itself as the type. Neither choice is effective, nor is that of Howard (Fl. Lesser Antilles 6: 598. 1989), who indicated as type a Browne plate, originally indicated by Linnaeus as of doubtful relevance, and subsequently (Mant. Pl. Alt.: 463. 1771) excluded by him from the synonymy of this name. In the protologue, Linnaeus added "Plantam mihi ignotam ex charactere Vaillantii addidi". Hind designated Vaillant’s cited illustration as lectotype, supported by an epitype.
