Lectotype (Hilliard & Burtt in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 362. 1998): [icon] " Gnaphalium incanum, angustifolium, calicis squamis ferrugineis reflexis " in Burman, Rar. Afric. Pl.: 226, t. 80, f. 2. 1739. -Typotype: Herb. Burman (G). Current name: Helichrysum cochleariforme DC. (Asteraceae). Note: Hilliard & Burtt (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 82: 243, 260, 262. 1981) indicated a specimen in the Burman herbarium at G, unseen by Linnaeus and not original material for the name, as lectotype. Hilliard & Burtt subsequently designated a Burman plate as lectotype.
