Rer. Nat. Thes. 2: 6, t. 4, f. 6, 7. 1735; [icon] in Clusius, Rar. Pl. Hist. 1: 93, 94. 1601. Current name: Genista canariensis L. (Fabaceae: Faboideae). Note: Gibbs & Dingwall (in Bol. Soc. Brot., sér. 2, 45: 275. 1971) indicated both Clifford material and 892.1 (LINN) as types, and Wijnands (Bot. Commelins: 168. 1983) stated that the Linnaean sheet "could serve as the type". However, neither statement constitutes formal typification.
