Lectotype (Burger in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 26. 1993): [icon] " Bucephalon " in Plumier in Burman, Pl. Amer.: 55, t. 67, f. 1. 1756. Generitype of Bucephalon Linnaeus, nom. rej. Current name: Trophis racemosa (L.) Urb. (Moraceae). Note: Bucephalon Linnaeus, nom. rej. vs Trophis P. Browne. Burger (in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 49: 7. 1962) and Berg (in Harling & Andersson, Fl. Ecuador 60: 18. 1998) indicated 1165.1 (LINN), a post-1753 addition to the collection, as type. Burger subsequently designated a Plumier plate as lectotype.
