  • Rhus lucida Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 267. 1753. "Habitat ad Cap. b. spei." RCN: 2127. Lectotype (Moffett in Leistner, Fl. Southern Africa 19(3:1): 79. 1993): Herb. Clifford: 111, Rhus 6 α (BM-000558433). Current name: Rhus lucida L. (Anacardiaceae). Note: Specific epithet spelled “lucidum” in the protologue. Fernandes (in Bol. Soc. Brot., sér. 2, 41: 13. 1967) indicated a lectotype in Herb. Clifford (BM), but did not distinguish between several specimens there associated with this name. As they are evidently not part of a single gathering, Art. 9.15 does not apply. Wijnands (Bot. Commelins: 41. 1983) stated that one of the Clifford specimens is labelled as lectotype but, though one is determined by him, it merely states that it is the specimen closest to 378.29 (LINN).
