Original material: Herb. Linn. No. 403.8 (LINN); [icon] in Sloane, Voy. Jamaica 1: 190, t. 121, f. 1. 1707 -Typotype: Herb. Sloane 3: 103 (BM) - Voucher: Herb. Sloane 3: 102 (BM). Current name: Tillandsia recurvata (L.) L. (Bromeliaceae). Note: Smith (in Proc. Amer. Acad. Arts 70: 208, 219. 1935), and followed by many later authors, treated material in the Sloane herbarium (BM-SL) as the type but this was not studied by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name.
