- Mimusops elengi Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 349. 1753. ["Habitat in India."] Sp. Pl., ed. 2, 1: 497. 1762. RCN: 2675. Lectotype (Pennington in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 67. 1993): Herb. Hermann 3: 23, No. 138 (BM-000621879). Generitype of Mimusops Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 149. 1929). Current name: Mimusops elengi L. (Sapotaceae). Note: Friedmann (in Bosser & al., Fl. Mascareignes 116: 23. 1981) indicated material in LINN (presumably sheet 492.1) as the holotype, but this material was a later addition to the herbarium and not original material for the name.
