Current name: Modiola caroliniana (L.) G. Don (Malvaceae). Note: Paul & Nayar’s typification (30 Mar 1988) narrowly pre-dates that of Fryxell (in Syst. Bot. Monogr. 25: 306. 13 Dec 1988) who chose the same type.
