Daftar Isi:
- Fagara pterota Linnaeus, Systema Naturae, ed. 10, 2: 897. 1759, typ. cons. ["Habitat in Jamaica."] Sp. Pl., ed. 2, 1: 172 (1762). RCN: 967. Lectotype (Adams in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 47. 1993): Browne, Herb. Linn. No. 152.2 (LINN). Generitype of Fagara Linnaeus, nom. cons. Current name: Zanthoxylum fagara (L.) Sarg. (Rutaceae). Note: Fagara Linnaeus, nom. cons, against Fagara Duhamel. Fawcett & Rendle (Fl. Jamaica 4: 175. 1920) stated that this was based on a specimen from Browne noting that "a spec. so named in Solander’s hand is in Herb. Linn.", implying doubt as to whether this was to be intended as the type. Porter (in Brittonia 28: 445. 1977) and Porter & Elias (in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 66: 153. 1979) wrongly assumed F. pterota to be homotypic with Schinus fagara L. (1753) and treated a Sloane illustration, which was not an original element, as the type of F. pterota. Adams’ explicit type choice is accepted here.
