- Megaderma lyra Geoffroy, 1810 Megaderma lyra Geoffroy, 1810: 190; INDIA (Collector unknown; Type unknown) [99]. Common English name: Greater False-Vampire Barcode Index Number: DNA barcodes recorded as M. lyra are associated with the BIN, BOLD: AAC 7954. Two DNA barcodes from Peninsular Malaysia (RONP 005-14 and RONP 020-14) are not associated with any BIN due to their short sequence length (< 500bp) but showed little divergence with other M. lyra DNA barcodes (Fig 3). IUCN status: Least Concern Recorded at: Selangor: Ulu Gombak [23], Bukit Kutu Wildlife Reserve [51]; Perak: Selama [49]. M. lyra has been reported roosting in shallow caves, buildings and tunnels [14, 23].
