Labidostomis rufomarginata var. reymondi was described based on specimens with slightly wider orange elytral margins. However, this character is variable through the identiħed specimens of L. rufomarginata. Moreover, thevar. reymondi was described in a paper containing also descriptions of subspecies (KOCHER 1959), thus it became infrasubspeciħc according to Article 45.6.4 of the Code (ICZN 1999).
