- The present article aims to discuss the circumscribed problems in the Solid Waste policy and the existence or absence of the debate on Environmental Education at the Educational Center School Odete Maciel Firmo, located in the city of Camalaú – PB, in the Cariri region. The research is of a qualitative ordering, using the bibliographic survey as the first technique, the second took place using structured interviews via Google form in 2019, in addition to having ethnographic research in the school environment, between the months of June and September of 2019. The results showed an incipient Solid Waste policy and the lack of educational programs aimed at environmental issues in the municipal school system in the city of Camalaú-PB.
