- The article deals with features of art textile production development by Ukrainian popula-tion of Kursk province in the second half of XІX – at the beginning of the XX cent. The major fac-tors of national art skill’s development of Ukrainians are researched in the sphere of pattern wea v-ing and carpet weaving. The special attention is paid to the analysis of ethnocultural traditions, va-riety of forms and art techniques of the most widespread in Ukrainian gromadas of Kursk province. It is stated that Ukrainians made a substantial contribution to development and reclamation of Ukrainian ethnic lands of Kursk province. They created new methods of housekeeping and rich na-tional culture, including culture of pattern weaving and the carpet weaving on the territory of Skhidna Slobozhanshchyna. The inexhaustible imagination, richness of technical solutions, wisdom and optimism, special feeling of functionality and decorative effect, the high degree of artistic im-ages generality became those traits which characterized the creativity of high-gifted Ukrainian na-tional masters of textile art of Kursk province in the second half of XІX – at the beginning of the XX cent.
