  • This study aims to understand the role of the teacher in guidance and counseling in character building students at SD Negeri 8 Kranji who have achievement motivation. The research will be conducted by researchers using descriptive qualitative research methods. Testing the validity of the data using triangulation. The technique of collecting data uses observation, interviews, and documents. Triangulation testing used by researchers is by source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results showed that the teacher at SD Negeri 8 Kranji had played a role in guiding and cultivating students' achievement motivation. The guidance and counseling process is carried out by teachers who are carried out classically, in groups and individually. This can be seen in the achievements that have been obtained by the school during accepting the competition. Motivation inhibiting factors so that students can excel as costs that must be incurred by motivation, students who are prone to decline and student concentration in the process of guidance and counseling that is easily divided easily. The solution provided by the teacher is by giving advice, playing animated videos about motivation, and doing exercises so that the school can open students' insights. Supporting factors for students to have achievement motivation are internal factors consisting of physical factors and psychological factors
