- Diabetes mellitus (DM), commonly known as diabetes, is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by a high blood sugar level over a prolonged period and is diagnosed by fasting plasma glucose level ≥ 7.0 mmol/L (126 mg/dL). A total of 201 patients were included in the study. There were 123 (61.19%) males and 78 (38.81%) females in the study. The mean age of al the patients was 34.35±5.23 years. The prevalence of diabetic patients among symptomatic patients was 56.98%.
