- The article refers to the action of the tissular preparation Choriocen (obtained from human chorion) on parturient sows and their progeny. The preparation was administered to 5 sows on the 2-3d day after parturition for normalization and keeping of the lactation and also for keeping the number of the piglets in the post-partum period. The animals from the control group were administered a 0,9% solution of NaCl. The aplication of Choriocen at the beginning of lactation induced an important increase in galactopoiesis. Starting from the 3d day after preparation administration the difference between the milk quantity produced by the sows from experimental group compared to the sows from the control group became significant and was maintained untill the end of the experience. It was established that the increase of galactopoiesis occurred because of the increase of the prolactin. At the end of the research in the experimental batch survived by 1.7% more piglets, and the body mass of an animal was on average 239 g higher than those in the control batch.
