- epiCaPture is a urine DNA methylation test for the early diagnosis of aggressive prostate cancer (PCa). The test is a non-invasive liquid biopsy test that investigates aberrant DNA methylation within a panel of 6 genes. This study primarily examined the importance of a digital rectal exam within the epiCaPture test. Additionally, it investigates the relationship between the amount of DNA within the patient sample and the detected levels of the housekeeper gene beta-actin. The study was carried out over six months as a final year research project with the School of Biology and Environmental Science within University College Dublin.
