- Qualitative and quantitative assessment are plays a crucial role in verifying product safety and effectiveness in multiple matrices. A detailed literature survey is one of the most critical requirements for all focused research activities. Efonidipine Hydrochloride Ethanolate (EFD) is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist with a phosphonate backbone. Originally, this active drug component was researched for production as a hydrochloride salt without ethanol, obtained by adding hydrochloric acid to the solution of efonidipine. It showed an excellent antihypertensive effect in patients with various kinds of hypertension (essential, severe, renal). This review covers various analytical methods for determination of EFD in various pharmaceutical dosage forms and biological matrices.
