- This report is a project deliverable (EU Deliverable D6.3) of Work Package 6 for the GEMex project. Los Humeros is situated in the Trans Mexican Volcanic Belt and is of high interest because of its unconventional geothermal characteristics. In spite of being under commercial exploitation for almost four decades, the superhot reservoirs of Los Humeros still demands research to fully understand the heat source, the geochemistry of the fluid and the interplay between the different fluid pathways. The conceptual geological ideas of both the fields are poorly understood and are subjects of study within GEMex. This report describes in details the workflow used for creating the regional scale numerical model of Los Humeros which is used for simulating the natural steady-state behaviour of fluid flow and heat transport of the field. Due to time constraints, preliminary version of the conceptual geological models (Calcagno et al., 2018) and petrophysical properties (Bär et al., 2019) are used for the work presented here. Uncertainties in rock properties and fluid pathways are investigated by by simulating different scenarios. However, the reader needs to be aware of the assumptions and uncertainties in input data before using the result presented here.
