- Corn stover can be efficiently transformed into biobutanol by using low acid concentrations during the physicochemical pretreatment, employing adequate Clostridium strains and performing a detoxification with reusable resins. A broth with 4.75 g/L acetone and 9.02 g/L butanol was obtained. Off-line gas stripping is efficient for butanol recovery from fermentation broths.
