- DSpace 7 is a major step in the evolution of the DSpace platform and repositories in general. While retaining its ease-of-use, out-of-the-box goals, DSpace 7 introduces many major new features to existing users and the repository community. This presentation is the official introduction of DSpace 7.0 to the community. It features an overview of the major new features, including a brief, live demonstration. Major new features include: * A brand new, client-side, responsive user interface (built on Angular), featuring a new drag-and-drop submission process with PDF metadata extraction. * A brand new, full-featured, self-describing REST API, which allows for the creation of advanced third-party integrations / tools against your DSpace data. * A powerful new Configurable Object Model (featuring typed items and item relationships) which allows for tighter integration with external identifier systems (e.g. ORCID), current research information systems (CRIS), journal publishing systems, etc. Alignment with COAR Next Generation Repositories recommendations (ResourceSync and Signposting) This presentation also serves as the introduction into a series of related DSpace 7 community-submitted presentations. Each related presentation provides a deeper dive into a single new feature, while this presentation acts as a summary and demonstration of DSpace 7 as a whole.
