- The subject of the study is national security and economic security of the state as a set of interconnected structural elements. The purpose of this article is to specify the essence of economic security of the state as an element in the structure of national security and the system of functional components. Methodology of work – method of system–structural analysis (in determining the areas of national security, functional components and aspects of ensuring the economic security of the state); comparison and generalization (when systematizing approaches to structuring national security and economic security of the state). Results of research – the importance of determining the components of economic security of the state and its role in the structure of national security is substantiated. The necessity of specifying the essence of economic security in two dimensions is proved: as a sphere of national security and a set of functional components. The necessity to observe the requirements of complexity, diversity and multidimensionality in determining the structural elements of economic security of the state is substantiated. Based on the system–structural analysis, proposals are made to clarify the structure of national security. Functional components (elements that are absent from the national security structure) and security aspects (elements that are duplicated with national security spheres) are distinguished in the economic security of the state. Attention is paid to the expediency of isolation of the military–economic aspect in the structure of economic security of Ukraine. Conclusions – specification of the structure of national security and economic security of the state is the basis for a methodological sound assessment of economic threats, taking into account the nature and source of their origin.
