Vietnam (Tourane = Da Nang). Type material. MNHN (AE688 (A 730)), France. Records from Vietnam. Da Nang (Vu Gia pass) (Michaelsen 1934b). Distribution. Only known from Vietnam. Remarks. Intestine of type material was so damaged that presence or absence of caeca could not be identified (Sims & Easton 1972). Easton (1979) considered this species a candidate for inclusion in three genera, Amynthas, Pithemera and Polypheretima, but he further suggested that if this species should prove to belong to Polypheretima then it would be included within the bifaria species-group. Since it is impossible to determine the presence or absence of the intestinal caeca, it is impossible to decide exactly which genus this species should belong to. Thus, the species is treated as species incertae sedis. Apart from the original description, there are no other records from Vietnam.
