- In Europa esiste un'alta domanda di legname di latifoglie, come il noce ibrido. Per soddisfare questa domanda, nell'ultima decade, in molte regioni spagnole, l'impianto di latifoglie è sostanzialmente aumentato. La gestione intensiva ha spesso richiesto l'accrescimento di questi alberi in rotazioni brevi. L'introduzione del bestiame e la semina di legumi in questi sistemi, può ridurre i costi finanziari di questi impianti e ottimizzare le lorofunzioni costituendo quindi un sistema silvopastorale. - There is a high demand for hardwood timber, such as hybrid walnut, in the EU. To meet this demand, over the last decade, hardwood plantations have substantially increased production in many Spanish regions. Intensive management is often required to grow these trees in short rotations. Introducing livestock and sowing legumes in these systems can reduce the financial costs of these plantations and optimize their environmental functions. This is known as a silvopastoral system.
