  • The article discusses the differentiated instruction in Romanian Language and Literature as a discipline in the Moldovan national school, with specific reference to the 2010 National Curriculum. Differentiated instruction is examined from the perspective of content, process, assessable outcome, and learning milieu. Various activities and opportunities for the organization of differentiated instruction in terms of learning and assessment (excluding teaching) are presented, which the author considers the most appropriate given the current education policy orientation towards student-centered teaching. The author examines the variables which the students’ freedom may be built upon, with regard to the standards of such curricular domains as Literary and Non-Literary Text Types, The Rational and Functional Practice of Language, and Culture of Communication. The idea of diversifying the products that may test students’ competences is being promoted, without equalizing those involved in assessment. It is also strongly suggested that the teacher focuses on the affective/attitudinal aspect of this strategy.
