- This work aims to use the exploratory and descriptive research methodology to analyze specific data from the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) on the Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP) examination arranged in the Sistema de Informações Ambulatoriais (SIA-SUS), present on the platform of the Departamento de Informática em Saúde (DATASUS) during the 10-year period (2008-2018), and report the scenario of this examination in Brazil regarding outpatients of public and private hospitals attending the SUS plans. The data show an 68% increase in the number of procedures with most of them (62%) concentrated in the Southeast region. The governmental expenditures raised in 83%. Only 8% of the procedures were realized as urgent situations. Finally, 85% of the ERCPs were done in public health facilities.
