- Spatial changes in taxonomic composition and structure of the ostracod assemblages from the "ostracod horizon" (Mstinskaya Formation, Aleksinian Regional Stage) in the Upper VIsean of Borovichsky district are described and discussed. Based on ecological preferences of the revealed ostracod taxa, these variations are shown to be connected with changes in environmental conditions (primarily, salinity), in which the assemblages formed. The information on paleoenvironmental conditions revealed by studying ostracod associations is consistent with known paleogeographic data and lithological features of the studied deposits.
