- Preliminary analysis of the acanthodian assemblage from the base of the lowest sandstone unit of the Middle Devonian section in the Lemovzha river basin (South-West of Leningrad region) is presented. It is concluded that the acanthodian association is characteristic for the Narva Stage, which is consistent with the data on psammosteids from the same unit. This contributes to the assessment of the position of the Eifelian-Givetian boundary in the section.
