- The poet Grigore Vieru admirably fulfilled the duty to instruct his readers by sacralising and emphasising the eternal values of humanity which come from God and which are directly and indirectly rendered in his writing from childhood to adulthood. The main themes that are sacralised in the poet’s literary output and that mark the core lines of the human existence are: mother, homeland, childhood, love, woman, parental home, ancestral speech, national liberty etc. Grigore Vieru is a poet of genius who lived with all his being for the Romanian people, for the Romanian language and for the sufferings of his compatriots.
