- The article represents an attempt of description and analysis of linguistic and cultural character type ―female poet‖, which acts as a version of character type ―Russian poet‖, in B.Akhmadulina’s works against the background of its typical realization in Russian poetry of ХIХ–ХХ centuries. For our study as a practical material we used poetic texts of ХIХ–ХХ centuries, the statements of contemporaries and descendants about women poets and their creative works, as well as women poets’ statements about the peculiarities of female creative works and people’s attitude toward them. The paper notes that the tradition of using the lexeme ―поэт‖ with dominant meaning of the trivial name for naming people involved in poetic activity regardless of their sex assignment had been formed in Russian linguoculture by the second half of XIX century. Although according to the standard there is a feminine version ―поэтесса‖ corresponding to the masculine one ―поэт‖ the latter is used for nomination of people of both sexes in Russian cultural tradition. The results of the analysis show that B.Akhmasdulina carries on the tradition of regular use of the masculine gender lexeme ―поэт‖ for nomination of people for the purpose of actualization of the trivial meaning and not the sex.
