- The scientific article conducts an investigation fully devoted to the legal regulation of the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in Ukraine. The substantial content of the rights of persons with disabilities to rehabilitation and the principles of rehabilitation are predetermined. The author points out that the creation of equal with other members of society opportunities for the realization of aforesaid persons their political, economic, social and cultural rights and freedoms is crucial determinants for the developments of the system of social protection. Not least important is the argument, according to which the most complete development of their individual abilities and the satisfaction of personal needs are objective prerequisites for the development of the modern system of rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. Within this backdrop, rehabilitation services rendered to people with disabilities are characterized. Moreover, it is indicated that the individual rehabilitation program for a person with a disability, as well as child with a disability is advisory in nature. The author has proved that the challenges faced by persons with disabilities should be considered at the level of human rights doctrine, and not as the pure manifestation of charity. In this light, it was shown that the addressing abovementioned issues through the prism of Ukrainian context deserves much attention. This, in turn, allowed the author to develop relevant findings and suggestions.
