  • Integration of the educational system of Ukraine into European one, active implementation of innovations, namely information and communication technologies (ICTs) into the educational process and the requirements concerning qualitative training of students formulate a request for the examination of competences of the academic staff as an important factor of their competitiveness in the educational services market. The problem of forming information and communication competence (IC-competence) of the academic staff under the development of the society information system requires a more detailed research. The main purpose of the article is to consider the factors that determine competitiveness of the staff, examination of aspects of the formation of academic staff IC-competence of as a factor of the staff competitiveness in the educational services market. The article defines the components of the academic staff IC-competence, reveals the meaning of the "academic staff IC-competence". The conceptual model of the academic staff IC-competence is developed. The essence of the proposed conceptual model of the academic staff IC-competence is the examination of the formation processes, skills and abilities to solve professional problems by means of ICT; identification of the ways for the development of the academic staff IC-competence; achievement of the academic staff IC-competence through the implementation of self-management functions. Implementation of the authors’ suggestions concerning formation of the academic staff IC-competence will be aimed at ensuring the teacher's competitiveness and effective functioning of the higher education institution. The conceptual model of formation of the IC-competence of the educationalists of the higher education is developed, it allows to use the achievements of modern science and practice in the field of ICT in its scientific and pedagogical activity, to maximize their opportunities for educating of competitive specialists.
