- In a number of previous notes, two velocities in bound state quantum mechanics have been discussed. The first is classical velocity, linked to the wavefunction W(x) by (-1/2m)[ d/dx d/dx W(x)] / W(x) and the second, related to an average conditional momentum u(x)/m = 1/m [d/dx W(x)]/ W(x). Although we have discussed these two velocities before, we try to bring together various pieces of information and try to clarify some ideas here.
