- The approach undertaken in this study attempts to highlight an aspect of the Bessarabian artistic life in the first half of the XX century, seen in particular through the Dicescu family members’ affiliation to the oral national culture. The text is based on data, documentary sources, and the unprecedented iconographic substratum interpreted by the demonstration and commentary grid. In the meantime, the radiography of the main cultural, artistic, and scientific concerns of the descendants of Dicescu family is proposed, referring to the artistic and scientific study, valorization and promotion of folklore. The synthesis and the analyzes undertaken represent an invitation to reflection and debate on the different coordinates of the knowledge of the national artistic patrimony, cultivated and promoted by the Bessarabian family of nobles Dicescu.
