- ÖZ Endülüslü usul âlimi Şatibî, Kur’an’daki kevnî hakikatlere işaret eden ayetlerin tefsirini nazil olduğu dönemdeki insanların anlayışıyla sınırlandırmakta ve değişik ilimlerin tespit ettiği hakikat ve verilerle Yüce Mesaj’ın yorumlanmasının, makâsıd-ı şerîa arasında olmadığını ifade etmektedir. Bu makalede Şatibî’nin bu yaklaşımı, Kur’an’ın evrenselliği, ilmî mucizeliği, selefin ilgili ayetlere bakışı ve makâsıd-ı şerîa gibi değişik açılardan eleştirel bir bakışla değerlendirilecektir. ABSTRACT A Critical Approach to Shatibi’s Interpretatıon of Qur’anic Verses Alluding to Scientific Facts This article discusses the views of Shatibi, a scholar of Islamic methodology from Andalusia, on interpreting the Qur’anic verses alluding to scientific facts. Shatibi confines the meanings of the verses with the understanding of the people who lived at the time of the Prophet and he asserts that relating scientific facts is not among purposes of religion. This article criticizes these views from different aspects with reference to universality of the Qur’an, its miraculous aspect of alluding to scientific facts to be discovered centuries later, the views of the great scholars of the early period, and purposes of religion.
