After overthrowing the Taliban, the Afghan government supported and assisted by the international community, began the process of creating health security services, and the reconstruction of health care. According to the Constitution of Afghanistan the State has to provide free preventive care, treatment of diseases as well as access to medical facilities for all citizens. The article presents revitalization of the Afghan health care, reorganization of the health care system and the services which are provided in the basic package. It also presents a quantitative analysis of the Afghan health care system. Abstrakt W trakcie ponad 20 lat wojny system opieki zdrowotnej w Afganistanie został zniszczony. Po obaleniu Talibów rząd Afganistanu przy wsparciu i pomocy społeczności międzynarodowej rozpoczął proces tworzenia bezpieczeństwa zdrowia i odbudowy systemu opieki. Zgodnie z Konstytucją Afganistanu, państwo ma zapewnić profilaktyczną opiekę zdrowotną, leczenie chorób i dostęp do placówek zdrowia wszystkim obywatelom. W artykule przedstawiono działania zmierzające do rewitaliazji afgańskiej służby zdrowia, reorganizację systemu opieki zdrowotnej oraz usługi świadczone w obszarze podstawowego pakietu. Artykuł zawiera również ilościową analizę systemu opieki zdrowotnej Afganistanu.
