ПСИХОЛОГІЯ ОБРАЗУ МІСТА: МОЖЛИВОСТІ ЗАСТОСУВАННЯ АРХІТЕКТУРНОГО ПСИХОСЕМАНТИЧНОГО ДИФЕРЕНЦІАЛУ

  • The validity of research. In modern psychological studies of the urban environment, the object is investigated through binary oppositions, the most common variant of such a study is the semantic differential. The aim of the study is to evaluate the main objects of the urban environment in the structure of the image of the city of Kharkov. Research methods. An architectural psychosemantic differential proposed by S. Gabidullina (2012) was used to estimate the objects of the urban environment. The content of the methodology includes the following scales: 1) "beautiful - ugly"; 2) "crowded - little people"; 3) "green - no green"; 4) "ancient - modern"; 5) "faceless - individual"; 6) "closed-open"; 7) "large-scale person - alienated"; 8) "calm - fussy"; 9) "fashionable - loose"; 10) "treasury - cozy"; 11) "business zone - zone of walks"; 12) "natural - artificial"; 13) "dirty - clean"; 14) "antihistorical - historical"; 15) " elevating - overwhelming"; 16) "pompous - simple"; 17) "a lot of transport - a little transport"; 18) "harmonious - eclectic"; 19) "comfortable - discomfortable"; 20) "beloved - not beloved". The experimental sample of the subjects was 114 respondents - 71 female and 43 male, aged from 19 to 64 years, in particular: indigenous Kharkiv (80 studied), Kharkiv people who arrived in the city more than 20 years ago (15 subjects), students from other settlements, who live and study in Kharkiv from 1 to 4 years (19 people). Results of research. According to the results of the frequency analysis of the significant places of the city of Kharkiv, 15 objects were selected - architectural and socio-cultural loci of the city of Kharkiv, among which there are significant for all Kharkiv sites. The obtained factors allow to evaluate its key architectural objects according to the parameters "comfort and aesthetics - inconvenience and unattractiveness", "artificiality - naturalness", "simplicity, uniformity - originality, elegance", "historicity - modern" and "calmness - dynamism". The resulting factor structure points to the complexity of the image of the city of Kharkiv, its determinism with a number of parameters that are significant for its inhabitants, the key of which is convenience and beauty, and the lateral ones - four factors that reveal the auxiliary parameters in assessing the image of the city and its objects.
