- The article analyzes the peculiarities of realization of love theme in Yevgeny Yevtushenko’s poetry of the beginning of the XXI century. It is noted that as one of “the Sixtiers” Yevgeny Yevtushenko has brought an erotic component and corporality cult into Soviet poetry starting the discussion about the most intimate parts of human relationships. Love theme is one of the prevailing themes of his works. It is actively used in his poems of latest decades. The article specially mentions the book of poetry “Poems of the XXI century” and its series “Female people” in particular. The analysis of poems shows their autobiographic nature and confessional character. The mentioning of the Woman in Yevgeny Yevtushenko’s poems is always connected with respect and tenderness. The love for the Woman grows in his works to its full extent and is projected to the whole world rising to worldwide scale. Yevgeny Yevtushenko’s intention to gain a deep insight of female psychology creates in his latest works an innovative and unusual for Russian poetic culture text “Men don’t give themselves up to women”. While staying a man but opposing himself to the rude male majority the lyrical hero of the poem is ready to be a sister and a female friend to women without pretending to gender superiority in love. Poems dedicated to Yevtushenko’s wife Maria Vladimirovna Yevtushenko occupy a special place in his late poetry. These poems say that love is stronger than death and is capable of defeating it.
