  • Formation of the national language mapping of world is actively studied in modern linguistic works. Studying of national specifics of the concept HOUSE (DOM) allows plunging into the depths of the cultural linguistics, which has been actively researched lately. It determines the topicality of this article. The purpose of the article is to present the national specifics of the concept HOUSE (DOM) in Polish through the analysis of reactions to a stimulus word in association experiment. The research objectives are: to conduct a survey on the stimulus word HOUSE (DOM), to analyze reactions, to implement cognitive interpretation of experimental results. The experiment yielded 829 responses. The concept HOUSE in Polish picture of the world is associated primarily with the refuge, warmth and safety (244 responses). Family and home are indissoluble unity (190 responses). Family fills the house and creates it. House for Poles, as well as for each person, is the most important thing in life. The presence of the house is as important as family. In addition, house gives them a sense of security (safety (bezpieczeństwo) – 34 responses). Family and house are the largest values in everyday life, and it is revealed in the Polish concept – family house (family (rodzina) – 73 responses).More often this word-symbol is associated with the internal atmosphere of the house (the semantic and thematic unity «psychological climate in the house» – 244 reactions). In addition, the house is associated with Homeland (ojczyzna – 2 responses), Poland (Polska – 2 responses) with small country, such as Gdansk, Kalisz. Thus, the house for Poles is the model of the world that brings together not only the domestic things, but also sacred, builds man’s relation to society and to himself, bear features of ethical and esthetic evaluation of reality.
