- While many biologists are able to run sophisticated bioinformatic analysis using Galaxy, it is not always clear how well they understand the role of each tool in a workflow or whether the output is sensible. To enable Galaxy developers to create a visually engaging, consistent and user-friendly output report for each tool, we have developed a new tool wrapping framework called Aurora Galaxy Tools that uses R Markdown. Aurora Galaxy Tools aims to engage the user in the output of each step of the workflow by providing easy-to-navigate summary reports and intuitive visualizations. Code is displayed alongside analysis results, making each tool’s role in the analysis process more transparent to users and increasing reproducibility.
