- Traffic prediction systems face major challenges on two fronts: relation between video quality and observed session features are truly complex, and the dynamic changes on the video quality. Software Defined Networks (SDN) is a new concept of network architecture intended to be more flexible and simplify the management in networks with respect to traditional models. Each of these aspects is possible because of the separation of control plane and data plane in network devices. Thanks to the availability of an API for this purpose, it is possible to deploy monitoring tools to obtain the network status and retrieve statistics collection. Therefore, retrieving the most accurate statistics depends on the strategy of information monitoring and capture the network devices. In this paper, we propose an optimization framework for the request of traffic monitoring in SDN networks. The present proposal decreases the number of monitoring queries to switches, improving the network traffic and preventing the switching overload.
